The chained strategy How can one link the interviews to drive them to some specific objective? How can one focus its effors in a linguistically hostile territory? Our linguistic difficutles, nicely described by Pierre Grosdemouge in his yesterday’s post as “the language barrier condemns the stranger that I am to laborious interpretations, to misunderstandings, and condemns the brain to hyper activity”, force the researchers to try to find new ways of interaction that reduce the costs of the comunicative disability. Any thread should be streched to find the ball that allows the comprehension of what is going on in the neighbourhood; any crevice should devine a door to open and to come inside to gossip. Then, the interviews are being chained until they addopt the shape of new analytical possibilities impossible to preview. A morning walk to know one part of the neighbourhood with Justyna allowed us to meet a woman who was cleaning a kapliczka (little chapel), and that derived into a group interview with three more women the following morning. What is interesting is that the 4 women lived in the same patio, and that fact opens the door to make a microanalysis focused on the patio relations to see how they turn into neighbourhood relations. Then, it turns clear that I should try to find more people in that patio to interview!

L’estratègia encadenada
Com anar lligant les entrevistes per conduir-les a algun objectiu en concret? com orientar els esforços en un entorn lingüísticament hostil? La dificultat lingüística, descrita per Pierre Grosdemouge en els seu post d’ahir de forma lúcida, “la barrière linguistique condamne l’étranger que je suis à l’interprétation laborieuse, aux incompréhensions, et le cerveau à l’hyper activité”, obliga al recercaire a mirar de cercar formes d’interacció que permetin reduir els costos de la incapacitat comunicativa. Qualsevol fil ha de ser estirat per arribar al cabdell que permeti entendre el que succeeix al barri; qualsevol escletxa ha d’esdevenir una porta per obrir, entrar i tafanejar. Així les coses, les entrevistes es van encadenant fins a donar forma a noves possibilitats d’anàlisi abans imprevistes. Un tomb matinal amb la Justyna per conèixer una part del barri en la que treballa ens va permetre contactar amb una dona que arreglava una kapliczka (capelleta), que va derivar en una entrevista col·lectiva al matí següent amb tres dones més del mateix pati. El que resulta interessant d’aquesta trobada inesperada és que obre a possibilitat de desenvolupar un microanàlisi d’un pati en concret i projectar la xarxa de relacions sobre el mateix espai i, per extensió, sobre el barri. Així doncs, caldrà intentar seguir passant per aquest pati en qüestió per trobar nova gent amb qui parlar! |
