Praga / Warsaw – Notes & sketches

This document features a series of “sociological sketches” of objects and situations, taken on the fly during a three-week residency in the working-class district of Praga, Warsaw (Poland). It is part of an exploratory work on the social modes of existence of ordinary objects, initiated in Rennes, France. Artists and sociologists take notes and sketches as a means of quickly capturing a moment when there is not enough time to set up an easel and canvas and when it is not possible to conduct interviews or ask in-depth questions. The objects sketched here serve as food for thought around systems of ownership, particularly forms of community ownership.
