Contre une domination sociale par l’image
RICHARD LOUVET
Rennes, march 2013.
Expeditions in Maurepas was an opportunity for me to play around with the figure of the explorer again, turning away from several of his tools. Being in pseudo-scientific research, which was the case with On-board camera or naive anthropological research in the case of The world’s people (test phase) and Vertical Study, I adapted the imagery built around explorations of the past. Often exaggerated, these images have the advantage of bringing media coverage to research and the disadvantage of simplifying the reality of it, much like the way that working-class areas are frequently portrayed in the media. It is through aping these practices that I am trying to prove the flaws of social domination by the image. |
